Weekend Recap: My Husband’s Birthday Weekend

Hello Everyone!  Happy Hump Day and Happy March! 2017 has been off to a very busy and eventful year, but that is okay! I have been loving all of my weekends so far. Here is a quick recap of Nick’s Birthday Weekend.

FRIDAY: After work Friday my weekend was in full swing. Nick and I headed to the East Side to have a family Birthday Dinner. We went to Wing Wah which is a delicious Chinese restaurant. I saw my Mom for the first time in about a month. She went to China and just came back. We ate delicious food, sang Happy Birthday to Nick, ate cake, and my Mom brought me back some gifts from China. It was a good start to the weekend!

2 purses for one! The smaller purse is used as a crossbody.

These are the purses my Mom got me in China. I love purses!!!

Afterwards we headed back to our home area and met up with some friends to celebrate Nick’s Birthday some more. We went to this place called the Yacht Club and it was my first time there. I would love to go back there during the day because the view of the place looked amazing. We got home around midnight and off to bed I went.

Out celebrating with our good friends Heather, Jeff, Jenni, and Tony.

SATURDAY:  Saturday started the early afternoon by going to the movies with some of my girlfriends. We saw 50 Shades Darker. The movie in my opinion was okay, it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad.  Everyone says the books are way better than the movies, but I haven’t read the books either. Overall, it was nice seeing my friends and we went to a really nice theater with reclining seats. SCORE!!!

Relaxing at the movies. I loved the reclining chairs.

After the movies Nick and I went out to eat at Joe’s Crab Shack. I haven’t been there in about a year, but I got a delicious mudslide and ate some really good crab legs. Nick loves Joe’s Crab Shack so we always go there for his Birthday.

Birthday drinks. Mine was the one on the right.

We ended the night pretty early and just caught up our shows: It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Workaholics

SUNDAY: Sunday was actually Nick’s Birthday! I started the day and went to Church with my Brother and Mom. We then had lunch at Andrea’s Garden which is one of my favorite restaurants in my home town. After I went home and caught up with my in laws.

After a few hours of resting Nick and I headed to the Detroit Piston’s Basketball Game! This was my favorite thing we did over the weekend! All I have to say is DEEEEEETTTRRRROIIIIITTTT BASKETBALL!!!!!Not only is this the last year at The Palace for the Pistons, but we went on RIP Hamilton night. For those, that are not familiar with basketball Rip was my favorite Piston and he helped win the World Championship in 2003-2004. The Pistons were seriously the best basketball team. We had an amazing starting five which included, Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Ben Wallace, and Rasheed Wallace. Going to the game brought back so many happy memories. I use to watch the Pistons all the time with my friends and I had all this Piston stuff hanging up in my room in college. We saw Rip’s Jersey and number get retired. It was so emotional and he gave and amazing speech. All of the Piston’s were there, including Larry Brown who was the former head coach. It was just so much fun and a perfect ending to the weekend.

Now we have two more days till Friday. What are you looking forward to this weekend? Do you enjoy watching sports? If so, who do you enjoy watching?

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying this holiday. I know some people may think Valentine’s Day is a cheesy holiday, but I like it because it involves the color pink and pink is my favorite color. I also love decorating my house with little cute hearts and Valentine’s Day Decor. This Valentine’s Day is pretty special to me because it is our first Valentine’s as Husband and Wife. In honor of Valentine’s Day I completed a little survey about Nick and me.

How long have you been together?-Just a little over 5 years. It became Face Book official October 5th, 2011.

Who asked who out-Nick asked me out.

Do you have any children together?-No

What about pets? – Yes, Luigi our cat

How did you guys met?-We met at our old job. We worked in the same building for 3 years and never spoke to each other. Until one day…

Who said I love you first– Nick said it. He didn’t just say I love you, but I am IN Love with You! It is something I will never forget. Insert (Aww)

Who is the most sensitive?-I am

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together?-Dominican Republic for our honeymoon.

Who’s Older– Nick

Who has the craziest ex?-Neither

Who has the worst temper? – Me, for sure. Nick barely ever gets mad.

Who does the cooking? – I do. In the summer Nick grills.

Who is more social?-I would say we are both social people. He has gone to my work outings not knowing anyone and still communicates with people. I have gone to his work outings and communicated with his friends and coworkers.

Who is the neat freak? – Me for sure. I think I have OCD when it comes to cleaning and organizing LOL.

Most romantic-Nick

Who is the most stubborn? – This one is kind of hard. I would say we are not really stubborn people, but we are both stubborn in our own way if that makes any sense.

Who wakes up earlier? – I do

Who’s the Funniest? – I would say me.

Where was your first date? – RoJo. This is a Mexican restaurant located in Novi, MI.

Who has the bigger family? – We both come from big families.

Who eats more? – Ha we both eat a lot, but probably Nick.

Plans date night? – I would say me. Usually it just consists of going out to eat or shopping at Costco or Target. Exciting right?

Who was interested first? – Nick

Who’s better with the computer? – Nick

Hogs the remote? – Nick, but I let him have the remote. I don’t like controlling it.

Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?-Me

Who wears the pants in the relationship? – It use to be me, but now I think Nick

Who eats more sweets? – Me. However, we both could live without sweets. We don’t like frosting on our sweets.

Who cries more? – Me

Now that you guys know a little more about us, I hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend! Here is my weekend recap.

Friday: I went to work and after work I headed over to Adrianne’s house for our girls wine and paint night. This was such a fun night and I had such a great experience with Artist Uncorked. The company comes to your house and they guide you on painting a picture. There was plenty of food and wine to go around. Thank you Adrianne for hosting such a fun event!

If you are looking for something reasonably price to do with your friends I highly recommend Artist Uncorked. Anthony is a very talented artist and showed us ladies how to paint a heart tree with flowers. He walks you through step by step on how to paint the picture with using different paint brushes. I loved how detailed he was. If you are not an artist that is okay, Anthony goes at a slow pace and was really helpful if you needed assistance.

This was my 3rd time doing a wine and paint event and I would do it again. I really enjoy crafty things. If you are looking for a fun event with your friends or something to do for a Bachelorette party you can always do one of these paint nights and of course drink some wine!

Saturday: This day was dedicated to thrifting. My brother Jeff, Nick, and I went to Buddy’s Pizza for lunch and explored some thrift stores.  I ended up buying a stripe t-shirt for 50 cents, a brand new H and M scarf for $3.40, and a really nice handbag.

The purse was originally $8.80 and I had a 50% percent off coupon so I only paid $4.40. I am so excited about this purse because I looked online for this brand and for the same exact same purse it is on sale for $164.00. The Exact Same purse I got thrifting I only paid $4.40! This was by far one of the best things I ever found. The purse was in perfect condition and pretty much brand new. It was clean inside. I love the color of this bag and its shape! I already received so many compliments.

Sunday: My brother Jeff and I went out to lunch. We then hung out with our friends Michelle and her fiancé Nick. We went to some more thrift stores and did some shopping.

I ended my Sunday by getting carry out with my Nick and eating some delicious Mediterranean food. We started watching This Is US. We got through 3 episodes and it is so good. I ended the night watching the Grammy’s. I just have to say Bruno Mars is my favorite performer. He is so talented and totally killed it with his performances.

Well that was my weekend. I hope everyone has a great week! It is only Monday and I already thinking about what to get at my next thrift store run LOL.

Have a good night!

Weekend Recap

I can’t believe it is already the end of January. Here is a quick recap of my last January 2017 weekend.

FRIDAY: I went to work. The day wasn’t bad, but the afternoon did drag a little. After work I came home and freshen up. We headed over to St. Anne’s Catholic School for their Casino Night. If you are you not familiar with casino night it is such a great event. You get to gamble, drink, and eat, all while supporting the school. All the proceeds go towards the school and it was so much fun. I went with some of my girlfriends and their significant others.

SATURDAY: Saturday was Chinese New Year. Happy New Year everyone!! It is the year of the rooster. Nick and I actually cleaned and relaxed in the morning time. Then our friends Amanda and Leo came over with their little girl Adelina. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I got a LITTLE baby fever holding this girl. She is literally the cutest and sweetest baby. I mean she smiled when I said “purses” LOL. We ate pizza and caught up. It is always so good to see your friends and their little ones.

Adelina and I. I love this little girl. She is so cute and sweet!

Later that evening we meet up with our friends and had dinner and drinks at Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate our friend Michelle’s Birthday. After that we went to do The Great Escape. If you are not familiar with this, it is where you are locked in a room and you try to escape using analytical skills. I always heard positive reviews about The Great Escape so I was so excited to try it. I thought it was so cool because the rooms are all themed. We had a library room and you have to search the whole room and solve random puzzles. If it doesn’t sound fun to you, I still highly recommend you try it because it is a lot of fun! I was a little hesitate to try it before, but it is a different kind of fun. Plus it is something different to do.  See below for the different Great Escapes you can try in the Metro Detroit Area.

We celebrated Michelle’s Birthday at The Great Escape in Royal Oak, MI. We didn’t escape, but I would like to think we were close.

SUNDAY: I went to church with my family. Then I went to the thrift store. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything. I celebrated Chinese New Year with my family. We ate a lot of good food and received our lucky money. I really want to go to China one year to celebrate Chinese New Year. This is something on my bucket list.

Chinese Lucky Money. I love these pretty envelopes. It is tradition to give out lucky money on Chinese New Year. The red color of the envelope symbolizes Good Luck.

After lunch I hung out at my Brother Jeff’s for a little bit. I then went to Buffalo Wild Wings again to celebrate my friend John. I can’t believe it has been 6 years since he has passed. He is missed dearly. I also saw my friend Alicia and David and it was so nice to catch up with them.

I ending the weekend by watching the Miss Universe pageant and Boyz II Men performed. Ever since watching their performance I downloaded every Boyz II Men song. I swear the 90’s was the best decade and had the best music!!

This sums up my weekend and I am looking forward to February.
